The unique collaboration between the Van Gogh Museum and Bedding House results in a very special bed linen collection. Each design is inspired by one of Vincent van Gogh's paintings. This season the inspiration for the products comes from the time that Vincent was inspired by oriental art. Japanese prints were one of Vincent's biggest sources of inspiration. The design is based on the painting “Flowering Plum Orchard”. Vincent had many Japanese prints in his collection, in his letters he spoke of 'hundreds'. He practiced the use of colour and the style of the Japanese artists by making paintings based on these prints. Vincent chose Utagawa Hiroshige's “The Plum Tree Teahouse at Kameido” for his first copy. He literally copied the composition, but he made the colours much stronger. He exchanged the black and grey of the tree trunk for red and blue tones. He also added two orange decorative borders with the Japanese characters for an exotic effect. In this design, the blossom branches from the painting are beautifully highlighted and made into an all-over pattern. The background is dark red and subtly shows Vincent's strong brush strokes. The duvet cover has a plain red back.

High quality The duvet cover is made of 100% cotton satin, 220 TC. The total length of the duvet cover is 260 cm. This is extra long so that the duvet cover can easily be tucked under the mattress and cold feet are prevented. The cover can be washed up to 60 degrees, is suitable for the tumble dryer and can be ironed.
